What Types of Personally Identifiable Information Might We Collect?

We collect several types of personally identifiable information.

Information You Provide to Us

Generally, Manhattan Toy doesn't require anyone to share any personal information about themselves in order to enjoy any portion of our web site. That means you can visit our site without any need to register with us. However, our site may contain special sections and privileges for members that register. We do not collect any personal information from you unless it is voluntarily provided, for instance when signing a guest book, registering for contests, downloads, free demos, completing our online customer surveys or purchasing products. The personal information we ask for is usually first and last name, mailing address, phone number and an e-mail address. You must be 18 or older to purchase products from our online store.

We sell products online in our e-store. Customers must be over age 18 with a valid credit card. When a customer places an order, we collect information associated with the transaction. This information includes the customer's name, mailing address, products ordered, shipping addresses, and credit card information. We ask for this information so that we may fulfill the order.

For eCommerce, we use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to protect credit card data during transmission, and adopt careful internal procedures to safeguard this information in our system.

Information Collected Through Technology

Our web site uses cookies. Cookies are pieces of information that a web site sends to your computer while you are viewing the web site. We and other companies use cookies for a variety of purposes. For instance, when you return to our site after logging in, cookies provide information to the site so that the site will remember who you are. We use cookies to pre-populate information on our Customer Information page, including your name, address, and items in your shopping cart. We also use cookies to recognize new visitors to our web site. You can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to turn off all cookies. You do this through your browser (like Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer) settings. Each browser is a little different, so look at your browser Help menu to learn the correct way to modify your cookies. If you turn cookies off, you won't have access to many features that make your web experience smoother, like the features mentioned above, and some of our services will not function properly. Cookies we placed on your browser will expire after 365 days.

How Do We Use Your Personally Identifiable Information?

We use the personal information we collect for the purposes indicated at the time you provide such information. For instance, if you purchase a product, we will use the information to fulfill the order. Occasionally, and only with consent at the time we ask for information, we might also e-mail or mail you to provide information on upcoming Manhattan Toy products, web site updates and promotions. If you want to stop receiving such updates and product information from Manhattan Toy at any time, just e-mail us at info@manhattantoy.com. Please type "Unsubscribe" in the subject line of the e-mail. Our mailings and e-mails will also include information allowing you to ask not to receive such information in the future.

How Is Your Personally Identifiable Information Used With Third Parties?

We work with third parties that provide services, which may include website hosting, e-commerce affiliation, data analysis, e-mailing and other services of an administrative nature. Personal information may be shared with such third parties for the purpose of providing such services. We seek to impose confidentiality obligations on such service providers. We do not otherwise knowingly disclose Children’s personal information to third parties.

How Do We Protect Your Personally Identifiable Information?

The security and confidentiality of your information is extremely important to us. We have implemented technical, administrative, and physical security measures to protect your information from unauthorized access and improper use. From time to time, we review our security procedures in order to consider appropriate new technology and methods. Please be aware though that, despite our best efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable.

How Do We Handle Children’s Privacy Issues?

To the extent necessary, Manhattan Toy will comply with applicable laws and regulations relating to collection and use of information from children, including the Children’s On-line Privacy Protection Act of the United States. At this time, we are neither collecting nor using information from children. Should we change our current practice, we will follow the notice, consent and opt-out procedures of that legislation and will establish reasonable procedures designed to protect information collected from children.

What Happens If We Amend Our Privacy Policy?

If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes to this privacy statement, the homepage, and other places we deem appropriate so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. We will use information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected.

If, however, we are going to use users’ personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection we will notify users via e-mail. Users will have a choice as to whether or not we use their information in this different manner. However, if users have opted out of all communication with the site, or deleted/deactivated their account, then they will not be contacted, nor will their personal information be used in this new manner. In addition, if we make any material changes in our privacy practices that do not affect user information already stored in our database, we will post a prominent notice on our web site notifying users of the change. In some cases where we post a notice we will also e-mail users, who have opted to receive communications from us, notifying them of the changes in our privacy practices.

How can I Opt-out of E-mail Communications?

We'd like to keep you informed via e-mail about product updates, upgrades, special offers and pricing. Except as provided in this Privacy Policy, we will not pass your details onto third parties. If you do not wish to be contacted via e-mail, please uncheck the box.
